tomato

My Veggies that I used today are

6 Carrots, 4 celery, 2 radish, 2 tomatoes and 2 cucumbers, handful of spinach and handful of kale.  I decided to not use fruit today to see if I just like the veggies.  It was really good.  I will put this in my file to keep with the juices I liked.  Some of the Juicing variations I don’t care for, but this was really good.

We had an emergency trip to Grand Rapids, MI and I was without my juice.  I did not like that, but when dining, went with the salads, no dressing, no cheese, no breads or pasta and still was able to eat.  That is amazing.  I was not ready for the restaurant world, but we did fine.  People gave us some strange looks at Cracker Barrel when we told them to keep the biscuits and corn bread…(it is just seems like a waist…lol)

3/3/13 My Juice today is…

Good morning,

Today I went with my 1/2 cup cranberries, 1 cup green grapes, 1 apple and 1 kiwi.  It was more bitter that I had expected.  I swapped the pinapple out for the kiwi thinking they would be equal.  Nope, they are not.  Even went so far as to reduce the about of cranberries down to 1/2 cup.  I will have to get more pineapple for tomorrows juice.

For my “to Work” juice, I juiced 8 carrots, 6 celery, 2 cukes, 1 radish, 2 mandarin oranges, 4 apples and 1 pear.  Since I juiced this right after the cranberry it was a bit sweeter that normal.  I did not want this sweet, the more fruit you add, the more calories you are consuming.  One lady make this with a few carrots and added more fruit and was wondering why she was not losing weight.  Others answered that she needed to add veggies and reduce the fruits.  I do not really care for carrots, but when juicing them with the celery, cucumber, radish and then the fruits, you don’t taste the carrots at all.

What I wonder about is… how do you know how many calories you are consuming in the juice?  I have juice for breakfast and lunch, fill my juice container with water after I finish, for dinner last night, we had 4 oz tilapia, peas and fresh green beans.  I just would like to know how many calories I am eating.  I lose weight each week.  6 days a week, I walk 1/2 mile to my store and then 1/2 back to the car, walk the dog 3/4 mile at night and whatever I walk around in the store.  I have 1 day off from the store and we usually cross country ski, downhill ski or snowshoe several miles in addition to 3 3/4 mile walks with our Akita.

On bad weather days, we use the treadmill, rowing maching, stationary bikes or something else for our longer work out.  Trying to do this as a life change.  I dislike the word “Diet”.  It reminds me of something that is temporary.  This food change is not temporary.  What are you doing to get healthier.  I would love to know.  Have a good one.
